Honoured Master of Sports in synchronised swimming, three-time Olympic champion (duet and team at Sydney 2000; team at Athens 2004), multiple World and European champion.

Olga took up synchronised swimming at the age of 7, and at 14 she won the World Junior Synchro Championship.

Upon graduation from the Russian State University of Physical Education she went on to complete training at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

She was awarded the Order of Honour in 2001 and the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” 4th class in 2004. In 2009 she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

Olga Brusnikina is a member of the RF Presidential Council on the Promotion of Physical Fitness and Sports and the Executive Board of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). She is Chairman of the ROC Athletes’ Commission.
